Inbound link building is one of  the main key factor of how search engines rank a website. This alone makes link building a necessary method of gaining ranks within the search engines. Inbound link building is essentially getting a number of links from other sites preferably popular ones that point back to your site.

When it comes to link building it’s basically a popularity contest, just like in high school. The more links you have pointing to your site the more the search engines like you which means higher ranking. Building a large amounts of inbound links is crucial for success online and especially when dealing with SEO. Link exchange is not as easy as one way linking because of of factors like the other person involved has to want to link to your site, if your not popular yet that could be a problem.

The major search engines place a lot of weight on popular sites pointing back to yours. You should make link building a major part of any online marketing plan you have in place.
